Hello! We’re back. Kimmikat has been so busy that she hasn’t had time to write this blog for me, so you haven’t heard from us for quite a while. What has Kimmikat been doing to keep here so busy? Well, writing half a novel, Christmas and a full knee replacement operation. But she promises to try and help me more often, now that things are returning to normal.

What have we been doing, I hear you ask?

Well, the same as always, really. Sleeping, eating, watching the birds from the window, and sometimes attempting to catch a mouse ot two. Life is pretty much the same. Kimmikat bought us some new beds, dome shape ones which we really like, but she has only put one up (they are foldable) because they are so big. She thought they would be a lot smaller. She had a phto of three of them all line up with us in them. She said it looked like a cat hotel, but unfortunately she’s lost the photo.

But we have some photos of the birds that we watch from the window. The bird feeder is right outside the window and the birds are not scared of us at all. Here are some pictures of the birds that visit the feeder. Kimmikat has to watch when we are outside though, in case the birds don’t realise we are on their side of the window.

 

  Last week BearCat was poorly , but he recovered and his wounds were healing. But now he is in the wars again. He was only out for an hour this morning, and he had had a fight. The other cat had reopened his wound behind his ear and he was bleeding all over the place. Kimmikat said he will have to go to the vets, because the other cat’s claws will probably give him an infection. So tomorrow BearCat has to go to the vets. He doesn’t like the vets, but he hasn’t said  anything as I think he was too tired. Good luck for tomorrow BearCat!

We have been staying in a bit more lately as the weather has been colder, and some days it has just rained. Today was good though as the sun shone all day. Sometimes I just like to go and lie under a bush in the garden, with the sun on my back, but slightly shielded from view by the bush. Then I feel safe, and warm and cosy, and I can listen to all the birds. They are so noisy. Cats don’t make that much noise (well only if they are fighting, which isn’t often). Which reminds me…the doves/pigeons have been back, trying to feed from the feeding station. They have to flap their wings furiously to get onto one of the poles, and then they can’t balance. They are very nervous, and keep looking round all the time. I expect they are looking for us!

This week has been very busy because we’ve been watching all the birds in the garden. KimmiKat likes birds and has a feeding station next to the living room window so that she can watch all the birds feeding. The other cats and I can sit on the window sill and watch too. There seem to be lots of different birds visiting. KimmiKat says most of them are Tree Sparrows and Greenfinches, but there are Blue Tits, House Sparrows, a Chaffinch occassionally, a couple of Robins, lots of Blackbirds, Crows, Wood Pigeons, and feral Pigeons, and, two Coal Tits. KimmiKat seemed quite excited about the Coal Tits. She said she had not seen one before. One day she was watching the Coal Tit and out of the corner of her eye she saw another bird fly onto another part of the station. It was a Great Tit. When KimmiKat looked on the internet to find out about it, it said that Great Tits often watch coal tits so that they can follow them to the food. Well, it seems that that one had certainly followed our Coal Tit, but he hasn’t been since.

KimmiKat and AberKat visited Billy last night. Remember…he was the cat that used to bully me. I was very relieved when he went. I had become quite ill with worrying about him, and I wasn’t cleaning my fur. Anyway, Billy decided to leave home of his own accord because BearCat told him to, and he went to live down the lane with someone else.

KimmiKat told me that Billy is a happy cat now, and more relaxed, as he doesn’t have BearCat to contend with. She says his new owners are very lovely people who will care for him and look after him properly. I think AberKat was a little upset that Billy wasn’t coming back, and had settled into his new home, but KimmiKat says it is for the best, and is in the interests of all of us.

Meanwhile, KimmiKat says I can post this picture of a painting she did today…of a cat. She says it is a stylised cat, not a proper portrait. I hope she is right,’cos look at the size of his eyes!

The first one is a picture of Mowzer, the Mousehole Cat, from a story by Antonia Barber. KimmiKat says we don’t have this book, but she intends getting it one day.

The cat face is ugly, but KimmiKat said she bought it at a charity shop, so I suppose its acceptable, and the third one is Bagpuss, another cat from a story book!

Then there are some ornaments.

A jade cat and a pottery cat. KimmiKat said she is very fond of them, but she loves me more!

It’s raining today, so I think I will stay in and snooze on the settee. I might be persuaded to write another post later on. KimmiKat said I am not writing enough! HUH!

KimmiKat has been painting again. This time she has painted a picture of my Dad. Now I have never met my dad, as my mum Millie lives with KimiKat and my dad lives with KimmiKat’s son. Anyway, I think you can tell he’s my dad because he is so handsome and bears a resemblance to me.
‘I think you mean that you bear a resemblance to him, as he was here before you!’
Er yes, possibly, BearCat. Perhaps you are right. Anyway, here is the painting that KimmiKat did of Fluffy, my dad

He is sitting on the top of the fridge-freezer watching KimmiKat. KimmiKat says he doesn’t like her very much, but she doesn’t know why.

I am not a happy kitty today, and I will tell you why.

When AberKat’s children stayed with us, one of them made a big fuss of me. One day he wrapped me in a blanket and made me look very cute, so AberKat took a photograpgh of me. What do you think? Don’t I look cute? KimmiKat says I look unbelievably sweet, but then, she is biased!

Hello again! It’s three weeks since we were here, but that is because KimmiKat has been away. I am not a clever cat and I can’t write very well, so I have been waiting for KimmiKat to return. AberKat couldn’t help as he was busy with his four almost grown-up children. I think you call them teenagers?

Well KimmiKat has come home, but is very tired. So she said she will help me write this in short bits. While she was away, Abercats four children came and for the first day, all the cats kept away, hiding in places, under the beds, in cupboards, and outside in the garden. Then slowly we recognised the children and realised we had seen them many times before and they were our friends. Cautiously we made friends with them again and then we didn’t have to run away.

BearCat has been in more fights with the grey and white tabby. Abercat said the tabby had been sitting in the middle of the lawn quite at ease, as if it were his garden, and even looked as though he was trying to get BearCat out. But Abercat made sure BearCat couldn’t get out and then shoo’d the tabby away. However, there have been other times when no one was there to stop BearCat and he has had a few fights with the tabby. I am not sure who is the successful party (who wins) these fights. Sometimes BearCat is very subdued for a few days afterwards. I should really go out and help him, but I am a bit of a coward when it comes to fighting, although my Mum says I bully her.
